How it works

1. Drop your file in. Drag and drop your invoice, or select it from your device. The tool accepts XML files in UBL and CII formats, plus Factur-X PDFs, from which it extracts the embedded XML. If extraction fails, a clear message prompts you to request the XML from your supplier or your accredited platform.
2. Review the key fields. The tool automatically detects the format (UBL, CII or Factur-X) and displays: supplier, SIREN/SIRET identifiers, buyer, invoice number, issue and due dates, net, VAT and gross totals, currency and IBAN — alongside a readable invoice rendering.
3. Check basic compliance. A checklist inspired by the EN 16931 standard verifies the presence of mandatory fields (number, date, seller, totals, currency): a green check if the field is present, red if it's missing. This is a presence check, not an official validation.

Why is this tool free?

Because from September 1, 2026, every French VAT-registered business must be able to receive electronic invoices — with issuing mandatory for large companies and mid-caps in 2026, then for SMEs, small and micro businesses in 2027. What's the difference between Factur-X, UBL and CII?

Factur-X is a hybrid PDF containing structured XML; UBL and CII are 100% XML formats with no visual rendering. All three are recognized under European e-invoicing frameworks, and our tool reads them all.

How do I open an XML invoice received by email?

Save the file to your device, then drag it into the viewer. The format is detected automatically and the invoice displays in plain, readable form.

Are my files sent anywhere?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. No file ever travels to a server and nothing is retained.

Does this tool validate my invoice's compliance?

No. The EN 16931 checklist only verifies that mandatory fields are present (number, date, seller, totals, currency). It's a basic check — no substitute for official validation or for the controls run by your accredited platform.
